Singer Susan Boyle has stated she was "deeply moving" to discover that Hollywood star Timothée Chalamet named her among one of his biggest British heroes.
The US actor cited the Scottish singer alongside a select group of icons such as seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, fashion and football power couple David and Victoria Beckham, and underground rapper Fakemink.
"She dreamt bigger than all of us," he said, referring to her 2009 Britain's Got Talent show-stopping rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables. "Who wasn't moved by that?."
Reacting to the comments, Boyle stated she was "very flattered," noting: "Those early days were quite something, and to know that audition had an impact to you all these years on is genuinely humbling."
Boyle concluded: "Each journey has a first step, with a dream and a bit of hope, don't we? We should all dream big!
"I send you my best wishes as you pursue your own dreams. Thank you for your kindness and for cherishing that memory. With love, Susan."
A Unique Marketing Effort
Chalamet's tribute came while he was talking about his new film Marty Supreme. The film's tie-in effort has involved him giving branded jackets to individuals he admires he considers to be genuine legends.
Those honored have to date featured singer Frank Ocean, American football legend Tom Brady, and Barcelona's Spanish wunderkind Lamine Yamal.
A Surprising Yet Inspired Pick
Boyle's selection was seen by many as an surprising selection when the award-winning actor was questioned which British personalities he would judge to be exemplary.
It is worth pointing out that Chalamet was just 13 when Boyle became a global sensation after stunning viewers and judges with her television debut for Britain's Got Talent, a clip which quickly went viral.
"That memory is etched in my mind," the actor reflected. "That moment helped define the early YouTube era, you know."
